Topiary Balls

The doorstep classic. A clipped sphere reads as architecture, and two of them read as a threshold.

Topiary Lollipops

A clear stem lifts the head to eye level, so a narrow frontage gains height without gaining width.

Topiary Spirals

Years of turning under the shears. The cut is a single continuous line from the pot to the tip.

Topiary Cubes

Six flat faces and eight true edges. The most modern of the forms, and the hardest to grow honestly.

Topiary Pencils

Vertical punctuation. A pair either side of a modern doorway does the work of a whole planting scheme.

Topiary Pom Poms

Spheres held apart on bare branches, so the plant reads as light rather than as mass.

Topiary Clouds

Three stems from one pot, each carrying a single clipped pad — low, middle and tall.

Their words

Eight entrances, finished.

A hand-matched pair of English yew topiary balls in black pots, photographed side by side in the studio
Their words · 01 / 08

We’ve restored this Victorian terrace over five years. The entrance was the one thing that never looked right. These finally complete it. You can tell they’re from the same plant — the density is identical. Genuinely rare to find a supplier who understands this.

Atlas and Oria at a slight angle, twin bay crowns held high on long bare stems in matte black pots
Their words · 02 / 08

Finally. A supplier that understands symmetry is non-negotiable for period architecture. The fibreclay planters have proper material weight. The entrance looks resolved now — not decorated. Resolved.

18 months of renovation and the entrance was the final piece. Nothing at garden centres matched properly. These arrived perfectly paired. The before/after is honestly unbelievable. Best money we spent on the entire project.

The sort of thing you only have to do once if you do it properly. Garden centre pairs look embarrassingly mismatched within a season. These won’t. Beautifully matched, serious plants.

We were £10k over budget when we ordered these. My partner thought I’d lost the plot. He admitted last week it was the best £600 we spent. Everyone who visits stops at the entrance. It completes everything.

The trees came on a wooden pallet, perfectly upright and tied like they had just left a show garden. My wife said it was the first time she’d been truly impressed by an online plant order.

We are delighted with the plants we received, very healthy and well grown, exactly as we had ordered. Would use this company again without hesitation.

Full marks for customer service — and for some really nice topiary yew balls (except the one which failed to thrive, no fault from either side). A very realistic approach to providing a replacement. Refreshing to find a company which stands behind the quality of its product.

Before you ask

Four questions, answered plainly.

Who are Topiary Twins, and what do you actually sell?
Topiary Twins is a British specialist that sells topiary in hand-matched pairs. Every pair is selected from the same growing batch, assessed side-by-side, photographed together and dispatched as a set. Specimens are 8–15 years old on arrival, grown in Holland and Italy.
What does it mean that a pair comes from the same growing batch?
It means both plants were grown in the same field, in the same season, by the same grower — not bought from two suppliers and stood next to each other. That is why the density, height and habit read as one plant twice. It is a sourcing decision, not a styling one.
What is the QC certificate, and when do I see it?
A QC certificate — origins, dimensions and six photographs of your actual pair — sent before the pallet leaves. You have 24 hours to review it. Delivery is a kerbside pallet to UK mainland addresses in 14–21 working days, or 21–28 working days at peak from February to May.
Where should I start if I don’t know which form I want?
Start with the form if you know the shape — balls, lollipops, spirals, cubes, pencils, pom poms, clouds or bonsai. Start with the setting if you know the place — an entrance, a courtyard, a driveway or a balcony. If neither is obvious, The Entrance Edit asks about your home and tells you what belongs there.
